Adding a new Article

Please click the “Add a New Article” link to create a new page within your website. You will now see this message appear.

Click OK to continue.

You will then be taken into the article editor page which will allow you to add text, image and tabular content to your new page.

Creating an Article Title

The first thing to edit is the Title for your new page. The system will not allow you to create an article with the same title as an existing article. The title of the article is very important indeed as this will become the text used in the hyperlink in your public websites navigation. The search engines place high importance on the text used in links so it is imperative that you keep this title descriptive and relevant.

Choosing a Parent for your Article

Once you have completed the Title you should now choose a parent for your article. You can do this using the drop down menu. Selecting “Homepage” as your parent will create a top level link in your public websites navigation. If you choose another article to be the parent for your new article, the new article will appear under the chosen parents link rather than as a top level link in the sites navigation. An example of this would be a client wishing to create a news article called “June's News” for news events which happened in the current month. They would choose the parent for this article as “News Articles” as they would want “June's News” to appear within the “News Articles” section rather than as a top level link on their Homepage.

The article system allows infinite tiers to be created. Whilst this allows for users to have full control over their websites content, it is important to make sure that the content is managed properly to allow visitors to your website to navigate through the site easily and effectively.

The site-map page of your website will fully reflect the infinite amount of tiers you have created using the cms. An example site-map is detailed below with 1 tier of articles:-
