Configuring your Mailshot.
Any articles within the “Article” overview page can be added to your mailshot, irrespective of whether they are live on the website or where they are located within the parent hierarchy.There is a parent called “Email Articles” which is locked and cannot be deleted from the article system. If you would like to write articles to appear in your mailshot which are not going to feature on your public website, create them using the article editor and choose “Email Articles” as the parent.
To select articles to appear in your mailshot you first need to click on the “Articles” link. Toggle the envelope icon alongside the required articles between greyed out (not included) and coloured (included) statuses. There is no limit to the amount of articles that can be included within the mailshot. Once you have chosen your mailshot articles, click on the “Subscribers” link.
Click “Configure” to amend the formatting of your mailshot. You will now see a framed window displaying the current format of your HTML email. Below this you will see a list of the mailshot articles. The order in which the articles can be displayed can be amended by using the up and down arrow icons.
There are 4 formats for the presentation of each article within the mailshot. By repeatedly clicking on the icon alongside each article you will be able to see live how this impacts on your HTML email.
The 4 formats are as follows:-
- Displays the article in full, the full width of the email.
- Displays the article in full, in a main column aligned to the left.
- Displays the article in full, in a secondary column aligned to the right.
- Displays the title of the article only, as a link, in a secondary column aligned to the right.
